A series of events have been taking place in and around London in recent days in support of both Assange and the soldier Bradley Manning, who stands accused of leaking thousands of confidential military documents to WikiLeaks last year.

To coincide with tomorrow’s hearing – which is expected to last two days – Stop the War Coalition have organised a “defend WikiLeaks” public rally with speakers Tariq Ali, Tony Benn, Jemima Khan and Joe Glenton (a British soldier who refused to serve in the Afghan war).

The event begins at 7pm and will take place at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL.

For those unable to make it, I will be tweeting updates all evening.
