On Saturday, UkUncut called a national day of action. The strategy? To establish a series of anti-austerity ‘street parties’, diverting the energy of this ‘celebratory’ season to new and more productive ends.  Events occurred across the UK from Crawley to Newcastle as people took to the streets to share the message that despite the distractions of the coming “national” events, the fight for public services is long from over: ‘This is not just a party, it is a direct action’.

The following footage was taken at the London event outside Nick Clegg’s house and is reposted here with thanks to @youandifilms.
