From blogs to dossiers

Anthony Barnett (London, OK): Over on Liberal Conspiracy Sunny Hundal is pioneering a form of expansion which will make mainstream papers quake just a little bit more than they are already. He has launched a Dossier. The first one is written by Unity and is called Catching Out Lies. It is on the deployment of so called lie detection software by the Department of Work and Pensions, the corporate agenda behind it and its origins in the Israeli efforts to control the Palestinians. This is more than an ongoing campaign. It is the outcome of some weeks of work and research, exactly what the best journalism is based on. It may represent a further coming of age of British blogland moving on from being just a forum of opinions and reactions to one based on research and investigation. The authority of online content and its influence will be enhanced.
