British officials dodged invitations to exclude the NHS from a US-UK trade deal. Not surprising, given how much public money already goes to the US healthcare industry.
We can now see the pressure the US is putting on the UK to put "everything" - including the NHS - on the table in trade talks. That this is now at the forefront of public awareness, is thanks to Labour having a leader who's also a lifelong campaigner.
The government is trying to kill its own trade bill, after Parliament insisted on adding more democracy as a bulwark against secretive negotiations using the Crown prerogative.
